About
They say you should never begin a speech or an introduction with an apology. Well, I’m sorry. I’m going to break that rule twice. I just did once and now here’s why.
I have no business writing articles/posts about job change geared toward people in transition. I have never been unemployed in my life. As a matter of fact, my careers (and I have had quite a few) have had a steady trajectory. Often from entry-level, but sometimes from mid-level to upper management. Finally, I decided that I would be better off on my own, so I successfully started and grew five businesses over a period of 30 years. So, what do I know about job change and how can I help you if you are in transition?
Actually, I know quite alot. Because, in addition to changing jobs and careers I have helped hundreds of others to do the same. I was the business startup expert on AllExperts.com for two years and, through years of hard work on behalf of the self-employed, won a national award from the U. S. Small Business Administration. During that time I began to work with the unemployed and underemployed helping them make job transitions after many months of unemployment. Here’s what I discovered:
The old job change system doesn’t work. The system is broken. Only those who know the secrets are able to get the job they want. To prove it. I decided to turn my latest business over to my son and get the ideal job in the business I have always wanted to “retire” in. I am proof that you can get the job you want in any economy. And so are the people I’ve helped, whose stories I will share with you in these blog posts.
